What audio format is the template using that you are saving to?

Did you try installing the Windows Media Player 9?

Note: Microsoft is discontinuing support of ACELP.net for encoding. Some WinXP systems won't allow encoding to this audio format, only decoding. Whether you can use it for encoding depends on what service packs and/or Windows Media version was initially included when the OS was installed. You may need to use the Windows Media Audio 9 Voice codec instead.

Take a look at KB article 266 (the error message you are seeing corresponds to the error code in the article). Try installing the Microsoft fix, does that correct the problem?

Problems rendering to Windows Media 8 format after installing Windows XP Service Pack 1.
