Trying to record multiple tracks in ACID Pro 4.0 sequentially - like recording a drum track first, then using the drum track in the monitor to record the guitar track. The problem is that the new recording track is also picking up the original track, so instead of having one drum track and one guitar track, I now have one drum track and one drum AND guitar track. Makes it impossible to adjust the guitar versus the drum. What's funny is that I'v done this before with no problem, on another project. I can even load that old project up, record a new track, and it doesnt copy the other tracks, but when I go back to my current project, it still does. I've narrowed it down to a software problem, like an option I don't know of that was not selected on my old project. Can you help me with this? Thanks. |

-Go into you Windows Volume comtrol. -Select File->Properties. -Click on Recording. -Make sure that only the source you're recording from is checked(Microphone/Line in). -Click OK -Click on the checkbox under your chosen input that says "Select" It should only record from that source now. I just figured this out myself. |

In addition to what dvergent's said, you might also want to ensure that the hardware input you record from is the only thing selected under "record device" in the Record dialog window. HTH, Iacobus ------- RodelWorks - Original Music for the Unafraid mD's ACIDplanet Page |

So you think the software is seeing my computer as another audio source.....so when I record a new track while playing the old track as a guide, it's recording from my input and from the computer itself? I'll see if I can get it to work now. Thanks for the help. |

Could be. Many audio interfaces provide the interface's software mixer as a source for recording, which means that anything that plays back could also be recorded (along with what's coming through the hardware input you've intended). Let us know if it works out for you. HTH, Iacobus ------- RodelWorks - Original Music for the Unafraid mD's ACIDplanet Page |
