DVD-A main menu video transition Q

Hey folks,

Any idea how i can do the following in Vegas 4 & DVD-A?

I want to have an transition video at the begining of the main menu. Let me describe, if you were to click on "menu" on your remote, I want to create and display a video that will slide in the menu graphics in so they all end up put together at the end of the video and then have the menu buttons appear. This would happen everytime you access the main menu. This is not a DVD intro video. If you watch the Monsters Inc. DVD the main menu has a transition video start then when done the main menu appears. Very cool.

thanks
jack

There is a tutorial on this on the Sundance site, and on the DMN. I wrote a tutorial on switching/transitioning menus almost a year ago, it's probably time for an update. But it works...
Sundance Media Group help
Look in the Tutorial pages.

Sounds to me like you want delayed subpictures ?
This is where in commercial DVDs you have a motion menu & the subpicture (buttons) rather than being present throughout the menu display part way thru with a seamless transition.

If that is what you were asking I didn't think you could do that with DVD-A , unless anyone knows otherwise ?

There are other (mostly more expensive but not all) authoring programs that you can do this with.
