I'm new to this, so I hope this isn't a terribly stupid question.

I record myself playing, or I sample off a CD. What I end up with is a sample that's one measure/bar of 4/4. BUT when I paste the thing into ACID it starts on 1.1 but maybe lops over into 2.437 or something.

What I desperately want is to somehow fit this one measure into one graphical block (from 1.1 to 2.1), to help me sync, edit, and so forth.

Is there a way to do this? I don't want to stretch notes so they're out of key.

Hope somebody knows...

hit the alt. button overtop of the audio , than drag it with the mouse left or right or send the loop to sound forge or wave lab than edit the loop .

I don't have soundforge or wave lab -- is there anyway to do this in ACID itself?

There are no stupid questions here. :)

Try soloing your recorded track, set the Loop Region over the recorded sample from 1.1 to 2.1 and then use CTRL+M with the "render loop region only" option enabled to render to a new track.

Using this method, your newly rendered track will be "ACIDized", which means the track will have the overall project's key and tempo applied to it.

The newly rendered track also shouldn't sound different from the original as long as tempo and key info are the same throughout the project when an instance (i.e., an event) of the Loop plays back.

If you're having problems with loops glitching/clicking as they loop, I can help with that.
