Progress!! but still not good... -ACID Product Family

Posted by: DJMattB241 Date:12/1/2003 8:20:06 PM if any of you have seen my "laggy" and "still laggy" posts, then you know whats up. i'm getting stuttering while playing back my acid project. since then: updated drivers, did most of the tips at musicxp.net, etc. here's the thing: i opened other earlier projects... no problems with stuttering. then: i muted the two vocal lines in the problem project... NO PROBLEMS! so somehow the vocal tracks are doing it. i tried muting a handful of other channels and it still had the problem. so it's obviously the vocal tracks. a bit about the project: 12 tracks: 10 audio, 2 midi (soft synth) all 10 audio tracks are in mono (including the vocals), 44.1Khz, 16bit tracks. so... whats different about the vocal tracks thats screwing my project up?

Reply by: DJMattB241 Date:12/1/2003 11:29:39 PM no, thats whats weird. i have FX on other tracks, but they arent lagging the tune. i have FX on the freakin midi track and thats not making it lag either. just the boring vocals. one vocal (lyrics) is a one-shot and one (refrain) is a loop.

If you're happy with the way the reverb FX sounds with the vocals, you can render the FX with the vocals together so ACID won't have to do it on the fly. (Ask me how if you don't know how to do it.) Still, I'm puzzled. I have a less powerful system than you and can have 25+ digital audio tracks going at 24-bit/44.1 kHz with reverb on some tracks and not have a problem.
