HI, We have a client who is asking that we now send her Mula .WAV files, 8 bit, 8k, mono. No problem right? The thing is, when I look at the file properties in SF-6, it says the file is 16 Bit. But when I look at the properties in SF-4.5, and in Voxstudio 3, it says that the file is 8 Bit. Who do I believe? Thanks, JonnyD |

Are you converting the files' bit-depth in Sound Forge? Iacobus ------- RodelWorks - Original Music for the Unafraid mD's ACIDplanet Page |

Sounds Odd, I would check what Windows has to say, and then trust that one. In Windows XP, right click on the file and select Properties. Click on the "Summary" tab and the bit depth will be listed there. If not, I would trust what the 2 out of 3 viewpoint if I where a betting man. |

I guess my question is, do you really need to know? SoundForge will open either 8 bit or 16 bit files and will output 8 bit or 16 bit files without caring what the input files are. You can even copy & paste files of different bit depths together on the same timeline. So, you've got what you've got and that's what you've got to work with. Work with it and save in the format you want. |

My apologies. I did the conversion in SF 4.5's Batch Convertor. |
