Hey, this relates to something somebody else wrote here. When I don't beatmap a sample, ACID plays it in EXPLORER at the right pitch. (It says BPM = 120... I think it's "defaulting" to my project BPM) Then, if I BEATMAP the same sample, it might end up with BPM as 91.505. (the new calculated tempo.) So NOW that same sample plays at the wrong speed when I preview in explorer, and the BPM is set to 120. It played fine before, but now the extra tempo information fouls up how it plays back. ***Can I "UN-BEATMAP" a sample, to take out information like BPM and ROOT NOTE? Very important, since I think I've screwed up some of my samples. |

yes you can. open up the properties dialog of your sample. and set your sample to a one shot. (a one shot in essence just plays however it is imported into acid.) there is NO tempo and/or key change. pretty simple. -marc |

When I do that my trackplays at the normal original speed when I listen to it FROM WITHIN the project. BUT when I use EXPLORER to preview that same sample, it plays all sped up. The info at the bottom of the screen says BEATMAP BPM=90.05, and my project is set for BPM 120, hence the problem. |

when you change the proeprties of the sample, you need to save it to a new file. sounds to me like it is just temporarily recognizing it in your project as a one shot. but its MAIN properties are still "beatmapped". set the properties to a one shot and save to a diff file name. ive done that before. --marc |

marc is indeed right. You will have to use the "Save" or "Save As" buttons under the track properties to apply permanent changes to the file (like changing a Beatmapped track to a One-shot track). Unless you do this, ACID will assume you want changes for that project only. HTH, Iacobus ------- RodelWorks - Original Music for the Unafraid mD's ACIDplanet Page |
