Acid will not start recording when it is SLAVED to MTC.
It will start playing in sync ...but it wont go into record by itself.
Thanks

ACID does not have automated recording functionality in any capacity. You must intialize recording yourself.

How do you transfer audio to Acid that is in sync with MTC ???????????????????????????

ACID can only be triggered to playback via MTC. It can't be triggered to record.

What is it exactly that you want to do? Record what's playing externally in another sequencer into ACID?

I want to record AUDIO into acid and have it be synced to the master {MTC} .
This way it will be locked & play in time with the master for playback { or layback }
Virtually every other audio software does this with no problem. Ive not been able to do this in Acid or Vegas.
This is a basic feature for music production.......getting worried here. {should be easy to do this }
Thanks mD hope this makes more sence.

I do know that when you start recording, MTC disables, at least temporarily until you stop recording.

Again, this may have to do with the fact that there are no such automated MTC recording features in either ACID or Vegas. (Sound Forge 7.0 has the feature though.) You basically have to initialize recording yourself.

ACID will only trigger playback from MTC. You _cannot_ trigger ACID into "recording" with MTC.

Peter
(MD: Vegas does trigger record from MTC.)

ACID is the wrong tool for something like this. ACID is not a multitrack recorder. You are better off using Vegas for this, as it DOES support triggering record with MTC.

How are you setting Vegas up to trigger record with MTC?

How do you have Vegas configured? I just tried it and it works as expected.

It really doens't make sense to do in ACID because

1. ACID does not multitrack
2. ACID has a modal recording model.

dosent sound forge have this ???
Is it multi ?
Here is how im trying to do this
Record a music acid trk synced to master mtc
Put loops to it in acid while playing the stereo music trk that was recorded
lay back loops synced to master recorder.
This lets me work within acid adding loops .... then lay them back in sync
thanks peter

Sound Forge (version 7.0 only) does have automated recording via triggering from MTC, but it does not do multitracking like Vegas does. It only plays one file back at a time. (It's a digital audio editor first and foremost.)

(Thanks for that clarification, Peter. See? Even I learn something. :o) )
