Help!!
I have to reactivate SF 5.0 after a hard drive crash. I have written to those support people until the doctor comes - they won't budge!
I have an earlier Activation code and a computer ID from that earlier activation.
WHAT CAN I DO!!!!!?????????????
Extremely helpful for any idea.
Thanks,
Werner

Look for the serial number that you got when you purchased SoundForge. Enter this number and then you can activate the software through several means. The online registration/activation is extremely fast, easy, and simple. You should be able to have your software registered and activated in a few seconds.

The previous activation code and computer ID number are worthless after reformatting your hard drive.

Thanks, kind of you to reply,
The problem: I do NOT have a serial number as I purchased through email and the activation code was given to me then and there.
Probably it was a mistake not to keep all the paper work...
Also, my studio PC doeas not have internet access.
Any more ideas?? Please??
gratefully,
Werner

Too bad you don't still have that email from your purchase. It contained the serial number. If you purchased directly from SonicFoundry then you can call customer support toll free at 800-577-6642. If you can supply some information such as your name, the date of the purchase, your email address, etc. they should be able to look up your account and give you your serial number. If you bought it from someone else and registered through SonicFoundry then customer support should still be able to help you.

If you bought it from someone else and they didn't give you a serial number then you probably have an illegal copy and are out of luck.

My own experience with reactivation:

I bought a full version of SF6 with NR after upgrading much earlier from Studio 5 to Studio 6. Sonic Foundry staff were extremely helpful in explaining how I could "give" my old SF to my daughter, and how she would go about registering it to her own name.

It would seem essential, though, to be able to demonstrate that you are the only user of your copy.

Hi, thanks again.
I sent them everything I have - like Credit card statement, dates, previous codes etc, etc.
Still they don't budge.
Anyone knows about a program one can use as host for DX plugins??
Preferably NOT Sonic Foundry or Sonywhatever - I've had enough of that stuff for a long time to come...
Think you'll have another computer problem...
Anyhow, thanks again, cheers,
Werner
