Posted by: marcarotsky Date:11/25/2003 11:30:47 AM just thought people would like to hear a quick "real world" experience of how flexible and professional acid is.... im a nightclub dj....(all over the nation) i was hired for a club in nyc this past week end, and decided that i wanted to start actually producing music and make live remixes as im dj'ing. (not just mix records and play songs) i loaded acid up on my laptop with a firwire sound card (m-audio) loaded my loops, loaded my vst synths and packed up my oxygen 8 (midi controller keyboard) and loaded up my reason... the night went perfect... i would have a song playing, write a quick "acid line and throw a vst synth in the loop" it was amazing.... acid performed flawlessly!!!!! i had more compliments and people in "AWE" of what i was doing that it made me realize the full scope of what acid is ACTUALLY capable of!!!! just thought you guys would respect a different use for acid tht nobody really thought of... but, i found it to work perfectly and even make my dj'ing EVEN MORE FUN AND CHALLENGING!!! GOOD JOB SOFO (SONY) FOR MAKING SUCH A GREAT PRODUCT!!!! --MARC

Reply by: marcarotsky Date:11/26/2003 11:24:01 AM yeah, i used it as i was djing..... loading in loops, playing the midi controller with vst's, triggering sequences in reason. it all performed flawlessly. i pretty much used the computer as another music source (like vinyl) doing live remixes. i would cut bass out of a song that was playing...and run an acid line over the song...beats and synths. i actually got the idea from "BT" (the producer, dj) i read an article in "remix" magazine how he does live producing as he dj's. so i thought i'd try it. (he uses 3 laptops...live, reason and acid) the guy is a god! :-) by no means am i THAT good, but it was real interesting, fun and challenging! and it gave me a whole new world of dj'ing to experiment with.
