Hi All,
New to this forum -I am...
I'm writing some somgs using Cubase SX and Acid Pro 4. I've found it very useful using Acid for building the songs drum parts. I am , or used to be a bass player and have been playing my own parts through Cubase.
My question to you is , " Are there some killer Bass Loops" available for Acid" ? I am writing in the Rock Vein and I'm used to hearing Analog type sounds for Bass. Can you recommend something for me ?
I'll hang up and listen...

Cheers

I don't know if you've checked the loop libraries available at this site yet, but the link is above.
As far as bass loops go, I've got Workingman's bass and it's well put together. However, not being a bass player myself, I've had difficulties using this library. A bass player would definitely be able to do wonders with it. Check out the samples available on the loop CD description.

Thanks MyST...
Ya, I'm pretty new here so I appreciate it. If I could find use for Bass Loops in my projects that would sure cut down on some time for me. But, bottom line they have to sound Top Notch, or else it's not worth it in the long run...
What do you use for Drum Loops ? I'm using some Acid Drums and something called Drums on Demand and also David Jones Drums. Very good sounding "Real Drums".
What have you got for gear?

Actually, I'm just a hobbyist who LOVES relaxing with Acid/Vegas/Sound Forge.
My "gear" is practically non-existant except for a midi keyboard and Echo Mia soundcard. The rest is pretty well standard PC.

If you want suggestions for a drum library...check out the Mick Fleetwood loop CD.

Also, if your looking seriously into putting together songs and marketing them, you might want to consider getting the Noise Reduction plug-in available from Sony. Loops are usually of very good quality. However, sometimes (admittedly rarely) there is some hiss that needs to be removed. Even if it's rare, it just needs to be THE loop you need that has hiss, and then what?

Be aware that using Acid is as addictive as the drug! I NEED this stuff to unwind from the 40 hour work-week! :)

Finally...Welcome aboard!!

Thanks for the Heads- Up...
I know all about this stuff being addictive ! Theres been times where I've spent the whole day and night working on something, forgetting about the fact I hadn't eaten all day. I remember looking out my window in the morning and seeing light, and then looking out again and NOT seeing light. Scary Stuff.
But all in all it's a great Hobby and I'm gald you really take to it.
I used to play for real in my day, so this is not just a hobby for me. It's kind of like built in, hard-wired, ya know?
I'll check out the Noise Redux you suggested - Thanks... Cubase SX has some rather good editing tools- also I have some good Steinberg Mastering Tools as well.
Being a Solo writer, engineer, producer, mastering exec. and chief bottle washer, I 'm trying to cut some corners, thus the interest in decent bass and drum loops. My time management is bad enough (window story) :-)
Cheers
Rick

I have Bass X and Bass Taster. They are great and I use them regularly. They are a little off the the beaten path so don't expect "boom boom boom."

For drums you can't miss with drumsugar. It is more on the funky side. Drum Tools id also useful.
