Subject:Converting track markers to regions for burning SF7?

I'm new to SF7. I extracted the audio from a 19 tune CD of live music performed at a wedding. The file I have in Sound Forge has 19 tracks listed via the markers. I have edited and cleaned up the tracks and now I want to burn it back to a CD with 19 tracks. When I use the burn track at once audio CD feature I just get one long track the entire length of the CD. How can I convert these track markers into something SF7 will burn as individual tracks? |

I believe you can't. SF 6 & 7 can only burn entire files, and only in the "Track-At-Once" mode. You need CD Architect or Nero-5 or 6 which can identify the markers and "split" the file into tracks. Both CD Architect and Nero can burn Disc-At-Once with user selectable pause times between tracks, unlike TOA which is fixed @ 2 sec.s Your other option is changing markers to regions (Special- Regions List- Markers to Regions) and extracting the regions into single files (Tools- Extract Regions) and burning those using your favorite burning software that supports DAO, if you don't want pauses between tracks. |

Hey, do you believe they did not think about that ? man, you must BUY CD architect to do that kind of job...yeah!!!!! Actually it is a neat soft indeed , a bit too expensive, but it works fine. |

Quite correct. I use Vegas for all my audio CD burning. |

I ended up burning the CD in Nero. Thanks for the suggestions. I also own Vegas Video so I will give that a shot to see if it's easier than the extraction/Nero route. |

Another option: Ahead's Nero (not express) will recognize SF markers so you do not have to extract and make separate files. Just add your file(s) to Nero, go to Edit> Properties. (or double click file) Selecet Indexes Limits Split >> Split at Index positions. Make sure the pause time is set to 00:00 in Track Properties if you do not want pauses. Burn CD using Disc-At-Once mode. |

Thanks for the tip. Nero 6.0 works well with the Markers. When I burn a CD using Nero there is no "Title" or "Artist" when inserted into a player like Real Player, MusicMatch and so on. I entered the "Title" or "Artist" information before burning the CD. Any thoughts on why this didn't work? Also, can I specify the "Genre" when burning a CD? Thanks. Robb |

Are you talking about the 'audio cd' tab and the checkbox 'write cd-text on cd' in the Nero compilation window? That writes cd-text on your cd if your burner supports it - the problem is most media players don't read cd-text info. Winamp appears to read it, at least the title part. When i insert a cd i burned with cd-text, it pops up a dialog with a title that matches the title on the cd and if i accept that as a match, it then shows the proper tracks, althoug it appears to query cddb for a matching title and gets the track info that way rather than directly from the cd. |

I am just starting to use SF7. I am rconverting Vinyl to CD. I want to convert the markers I inserted to Tracks when the CD is played back in a CD player. Can anyone help me with this? Also, the plugin for noise reduction in this case. Is it worth the $280 price? |

An emphatic YES! I've never found anything better. Also, you can find it for a better price than that if you search around. ..spalding |
