Subject:Saving as .mp3 adds dead air to file

Strange...

I created a 15 second loop of audio (32 beats) and within Sound Forge if I click 'Play'
while the loop button is depressed, the loop plays and sounds perfect.

If I now save the file as an mp3, via 'Save As...', extra space (dead air) is added to the
front and back of the track, making the loop impossible to work with. If I save as a .wav
or .aiff file, the loop remains perfect with no added extra space.

I am running SF version 7.0a. Could this be a bug or ???

A quick search is always helpful... and easy. Trolling is a no-no.
