When something like this happens, I go into the registry and manually delete all of the plugins and have Acid do a plugin search again. I forget the actual key ( i am at work right now and use Win 98 here).

I had a similar problem when I install it back in, but found out I forgot to check the box (upon installation) that asks you to put it in the VSTi directory. When I checked this box everything was OK. Hope this helps.

Here's the key :

Exit ACID
Start | Run regedit
Locate the following key:

HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Sonic Foundry\ACID\4.0\Metrics\VSTi Synth

and delete it.

Restart ACID. This should force ACID to look for VSTis again on start up.

Thankyou!!!!!! That was very helpful. I had the same problem with my Absynth 1.3. No matter where I set the default vsti seach folder to browse, it would find fm7, and some of my Steinberg Cubase vsti's, but not the absynth. Is this because of the f update?
