Subject:Effects Plug-Ins lock to Screen Bottom

Okay -- this is probably one of the dumber questions anyone's asked. I know there's probably a simple way of of this but I can't find it.

For some reason, when I click on the audi plug-ins for a track, I used to get a floating window that was easy to use. Now -- don't ask me what I did -- the FX window locks to the bottom of the screen and I can't move it at all. This means I can't make settings 'cuz I can't reach down to everything I need.

How do I unlock the darn thing?

You'll notice a thinly-etched vertical bar at the left edge of the plug-ins page. click on it and drag upwards to undock. You can also resize the docked area by grabbing the horizontal top line between the trackview and the plug-in page and dragging up or down.

Adding to what Joel said, you can hold down CTRL on your keyboard while dragging the window. This will ensure that the window doesn't try to dock with the edge of the main window when it's near that location.
