I don't think 48 kHz is specified for the official MP3 spec.

Anyone confirm this?

i didn't think so either, but when i play it in winamp it says it's 48khz, while everything else i play there says 44.

and the file won't open in sound forge or play on my ipod. odd.

I can't get 48khz wav files to play back in SF7a using the Digidesign wave driver with a Digi001. I get some message about device digi001 channel 1-2 not supporting bit rate, sample rate, etc. They play back just fine using other apps (like CD Architect 5). They will also playback just fine using a CL Soundblaster.

Is there sonmething going on here with some drivers, SF7a, and 48khz?

Greg
