Subject:Control surface for ACID...?

I am looking to purchase ACID as it seems to tick all the boxes for me in regards what I need, apart from one...

What is support like in ACID for hardware controllers like the Mackie control or the up and coming Yamaha o1X. I cant believe this question has not already been asked so I apologise for my ignorance.

To me, this would make ACID complete as I would love to be able to utilise actual faders for volume control as opposed to mouse manipulation, and actual pots for parameter tweaking but I cannot find any information pertaining to this implementation....

Please fill me in...!

All the best

I haven't exactly heard anything as of yet, but you're not the first. If anything, fill out Sony's product suggestion form. Even though they don't personally respond, they do read the suggestions. You may also want to contribute to this thread, which Sony is looking over.

HTH

Thanks for the info. I have done as you suggest and will wait with a puzzled look of "I cant believe they havent already incorporated that into ACID" on my face....

Oh well.... I might wait to see what ACID 5 brings to the table before deciding which way to go in regards to software purchasing...

Cheers

You're welcome.

It may have something to do with the way ACID fits within certain paradigms. ACID's sister app, Vegas, could benefit from a control surface, for example, yet one doesn't exist for that app either. (Not one dedicated solely for the app anyway.)

I forgot to mention that there actually is a control surface available, ShuttlePRO, that's compatible with ACID Pro (amongst other apps). Probably not exactly what you're looking for, but it's a start.

I believe JL Cooper's MiniDesk will work with Acid as well as many others. Luces

shuttle pro v2 works with acid. No good for mixing but apparently great for speeding up work and editing.
