I am having trouble getting things to record at full volume. I am using ACID 3.0 Pro and basically running 5 or 6 mics through a mixer with a few guitars and a bass hooked up to the mixer as well. My problem is that when i use the record feature it does not play back the recorded clip at the same volume i recorded it at. Not only that but it doesn't even appear to beatmap the recorded song. I have tried messing around with the mixer and also the record volumes and such, but that does not seem to work. I am wondering if anyone knows how i can get ACID to record louder and actually beatmap the track. When i am looking at the record window i am also unable to get the input to a volume where it clips. I just need to know if anyone can tell if i need to work on all the inputs of if they think it is a setting on ACID. |

For the recording volume, note that you are probably recording as hot as possible. Any added track, whether it's recorded or not, has its track volume dictated by the Preview volume in the Mixer. To remedy your situation, try taking a look at the track volume in the track list. By default, it's set at -6.0 dB. Double-click the slider to set it at unity (0.0 dB). You should be able to tell if your track has become a Beatmapped track by the icon in the track list. It looks like one of the those adapter thingies used to play 45's on an LP vinyl record player. Make sure the option "make new track follow project tempo (Beatmapped track)" is checked under the Record dialog. If you can't seem to get your record volume near unity, check your soundcard's software mixer controls for recording. They may be set low. (What soundcard are you using?)
