Try getting pitch correction software and adjusting the formant and pitch of the recorded file. You'll have to experiment with different settings.

Here's a cheap but good one:

or the AKAI VST one is easier to use AND it's realtime (scroll down for the PitchRight plugin:

You'll need a VST wrapper: http://www.spinaudio.com/downloads_free.html

Taking a different route, if you mean simulate someone else's voice, say for example Jimmy Stuart's, forget it.

If so, don't be fooled by what they can do on TV, just like all the spectacular CSI audio manipulation. Remember (if old enough), Jerry Van Dyke's mother was a car on TV and spoke to him through the radio :-).

MJ,
You mean "My Mother the Car" wasn't a reality show...... and you actually can't do all that neat audio/video stuff they do on CSI?
Bummer, my day is ruined.

Alot of voice over people would be out of work, once someone developes that plugin.....we've talked about this before in the studio when a talent becomes a pain in the ass on occassions......we can only dream.
