OK, it is alone an idea

the idea that crossed for my mind was this:

Could Sonic Foundry and/or Sony Pictures purchase the software Samplitude 7.0?
(as Sony Pictures bought Sonic Foundry's softawares on July 31, 2003)

you think: WHY?

well... if that purchase were done, the engineers (SoFo and/or SoPi) could make a greats changes into the architecture of

Samplitude, for example:

1. Support files MP3 (Samplitude 7.0 only work WAVE files)
2. Support files MPEG 1, MPEG 2 (Samplitude 7.0 only work AVI files)
3. Render to files MPEG 1, MPEG 2, AVI, QUICK TIME plus audio track
4. Combination with Acid Pro 4.0 (section tracks: fades and tools enveloped, midi drivers supports, bitmaps. unlimite tracks &

undos, use of ram, etc )
5. Combination with Sound Forge 7.0 (section edition: combining all the power of SF 7.0 FOR EACH track, etc)
6. Combination with Vegas 4.0 (section video preview and render: correction color, track motion, basic filters, basic effects,

basic texts on video, export for DVD Architect and Screenblast Movie Studio)
6. Combination with CD Architect 5.0 (section CD burn: only tools to burn CD (one track from all the tracks or one track for each track)

7. Betters and redesigns on Samplitude's tools (botoms, graphichs, controls, skins, etc)

At final, Samplitude would include the features more importans of Sound Forge, Vegas, Acid, CD Architect and the same

features the Samy (Samplitude)

The engineers know how to imagine, to create and to win. Is the true, and they will know to do it best, as always

If this purchase were done, Samplitude will gain more reputation on hands of SoFo and/or SoPi

Samplitude is a great software, (the best countrys to creat great softwares are USA (SoFo, Adobe, Cakewalk, etc): GERMAN

(Steinberg, Magix, Ahed Software, Digidisign); Sweden (Propellerhead), if not bad remember), as I say: Samplitude is a great

software and could be more great if the purchase besides possible.

Ok, well, if you have a suggest, oppinion or feature if all this besides possible, please, reply this topic.

finally all this was only idea, SoFo / SoPi has the final decision.

thank you very much.

bye bye

I see no benefit in Sony buying Samplitude. Samplitude offers nothing additional to the feature list which sony already has throughout their software lineup. They have no need for a multitrack application, they already have Vegas. The only reason a company like Sony Pictures Digital might gain by purchasing Samplitude is market share, and therefore Samplitude would probably die soon afterwards. So watch what you wish for. In my opinion Samplitude is over priced and it lacks in a lot features Vegas already has. I spent 15 minutes with the engineers from samplitude and showed them 5 necessary features in editing that Samplitude didn't have. They got out their pen and paper and took notes.
