When I play my Midi controller into acid there is a delay from when I hit the keys to when I hear sound. wus up

It's the nature of the beast (so to speak). What you're experiencing is called "latency".

If you're using MIDI, it's recommended you try the ASIO driver model rather than the WDM (or "Windows Classic") model. Go to Options>Preferences on the menu bar and under the Audio tab, choose the appropriate ASIO drivers under "audio device type" for your respective audio interface.

Are you listening through your computers speakers or from your soundcards outputs via headphones? You will get latency through the comp. speakers I found. Listening from my MiaMidi soundcard's outputs the sound is Johnny-on-the-spot with my playing.

It looks like the SoundBlaster Live does not even have ASIO drivers. It uses something called Microsoft Sound Mapper. Is it time for a new audio card?

You might have some success with the kx drivers for Soundblaster Live...
