hello all ...

I'm experiencing a strange problem whilst trying to record midi data in AP4.0e ...
I'm not doing anything differently than when I recorded countless times.
The problem I'm having is once I have finished recording my piece the midi file is added to the track view as normal but there's no midi data contained in the file ..

Anyone have any idea what this could be ?

All help much appreciated ..

when you are in record mode, do you get levels while pressing keys? make sure you get levels so that yo uknow its recording. you can get sound through a soft synth without recording if there is no level coming through. make sure your card is set to record midi. sometimes weird things happen on comuters and things get shut off or whatever....good ole windows! :-)
hope this helps.

Hey,

Yes I get sound levels as normal. also midi tracks previously recorded still work fine triggering my vsti's ..

Anyone have any ideas to why this is happening ?..

like i said, make sure youre card is STILL set to record your midi input. check on the preferences-midi tab in acid set up. even though you get sound when you hit keys or sound from PREVIOUSLY recorded midi tracks, it DOES NOT mean that midi is set to record currently. when you open the record dialog box, do you get levels from a soft synth when you strike a key?? (RECORD levels, NOT output levels) if a previoulsy recorded midi track plays back it does not mean it is set to record. it is just polaying back information that is ALREADY imbedded in your acid project. it is not playing back anything new that was recorded. the info. already exists on the midi info at that point in time in your proj. is this making any sense???
