I am looking to use a pod 2.0 to record loops into Acid Pro - All I have right now is a creative soundblaster audgy (basically just a mono mic input (1/4") & RCA jacks - I do have spdif & optical inputs, however).

- What would be the best way to get pod signal into the computer? What would be a good soundcard (for the money) to get for acid, since it doesn't really support multi-channel recording? What are most guitar players out in the computer world using to make a pod work well with acid?

If you're looking into going direct, and since the POD has 1/4" TRS stereo outs, try Echo's MiaMIDI. It can usually be found for about $199 street.

thanks for the info Iacobus, by the way, the user-manual says a d/I box in the chain is also a good idea. Have you found this to be necessary?

I believe that's only if you plan on, say, plugging the guitar into a mixer and then into the POD.

You could also keep things simple by just plugging your guitar in your POD and then the POD would go into the MiaMIDI, but that also wouldn't be as flexible as what the POD's manual suggests for using a mixer in the chain.

(I don't use a POD; I use DigiTech's GNX2. I also have the option of going either through the GNX directly to my soundcard or through a mixer. If I go through the mixer, I would use a DI box. However, I have a dry track feature on the GNX, so I don't really have to do this. I can record dry while listening wet and run the dry signal through effects later if I want.)
