Am i missing something? I am impressed with the Acid/Reason Rewire thing and sync - seems to work well, BUT can Acid's mixer/outputs be shown in Reasons mixer as Reason has a better mixer/interface for mixing down... I know in Logic/Cubase - the Reason rewired to these, they all show in the host's mixer I wondered if this happens with these two - or do they just sync together but "seperately" ? - please tell me how if it can be done and if everything (Acid's loops/audio etc) can be shown in Reason 2.0? |

Which do you want to do, use ACID as a mixer for Reason, or route MIDI tracks in ACID to specific synths in Reason? Iacobus ------- RodelWorks - Original Music for the Unafraid mD's ACIDplanet Page |

I wanted to use Acid loops/Audio in the Reason Mixer as it has a better layout/EQ etc in Reason... Can this be done? |

ACID is a ReWire Host, just like Cubase/Logic. You can not control the ACID mixer (nor the Cubase or Logic mixer) from with in Reason. Reason is a Device. Its ouputs are routed to the ReWire Host. >>I know in Logic/Cubase - the Reason rewired to these, they all show in the host's mixer << What do you mean by this? What shows up in the Cubase/Logic mixer? Peter |

i thought that when u used Reason in Logic/Cubase - Reason appeared in the hosts Mixer? So can Acid channels appear in Reason's mixer? or are they just synced seperatley? |

>>i thought that when u used Reason in Logic/Cubase - Reason appeared in the hosts Mixer? << Correct. ACID works the exact same way. The outputs of the ReWire Device - Reason - are "wired" to the mixer of the ReWire Host. The outputs of Reason "appear" - depending on how you have configured the host - as buses/tracks in the Host. Each of Reason's output buses can be added to the ReWire Host's mixer. The ouput data is "mixed" into the signal path of the Host. In ACID these ouputs appear as sub buses in the mixer. By default ACID creates the master bus as defined/specified by the ReWire device. You can add the additional ouputs from Reason as additional buses. This is how ACID, Cubase, and Logic - or ANY ReWire host works with Reason. >>So can Acid channels appear in Reason's mixer? or are they just synced seperatley? << No. That would make Reason a ReWire Host and ACID a ReWire Device. I don't know what you mean by "synced seperately". Sync is absolute in a ReWire system. The ReWire Host is the master. It "pulls" data synchronously from any ReWire device on a given sample frame size. It is sample accurate because the ReWire Host's audio engine is driving the output of Reason. Peter |

Ah right i see - Is there ANY plans to make Acid 4.0F / Acid 5.0 to be a Rewire slave? - i jsut want to use Acid's outputs and rewire sync in Logic 5.5 on the PC - as i think this would be great (if acid is stable of course) as the Reason & Acid thing works well (ie movable loop points between the 2, and perfect sync) thanks |

for the record reason's mixer isn't nearly as flexible as acid's: (only a two-band EQ, no plug-in support, limited amount of busses) plus the sequencer's a dog...but i love the sounds and the patching. acid as a rewire slave has been asked for since the beginning so i'm sure it's in the works. |
