AcouMirror and WaveHammer are gone with SF7

I ran the so called migration tools when SF6 was still on my machine and I could open them from SF7 but after uninstalling 6 they were gone replaced by a message telling me to upgrade...what a joke...is there some special installation procedure I should follow to keep these plugins

I've also tried reinstalling SF6 again but my activation code doesn't work anymore so it remains in demo state, the plugins are back in SF 7, but why in the name of earth would I want both 6 and 7 installed on my HD! such a waste of space.

Please Help SONY ONE KENOBY you're my only hope!!!

Did you run the migration tools after uninstalling Sound Forge 6? Try the Register Sony DirectX Audio Plug-Ins again.

Thanks,
Steve

Yes I did, qithout succes, right after SF7 installation (Before uninstalling 6) and again after uninstalling 6.
The plugins function as normal as long as I have 6

and yes I ran ALL the migration tools still no magic.

I hope you can help me.

You might consider waiting a while to uninstall SF6. SF7 has just been released and it usually takes a few updates to get things as they should be. In the meantime you can rely on 6 until it seems right to get rid of it. I usually monitor the forums carefully right after a release. I've never uninstalled a previous version of a SoFo/Sony app until at least the "b" update. In fact, I usually don't even bother to install until then. I'll leave the beta testing to those who enjoy it! ;-)

Like me! :)

Good advice dude. I also have SF6e still installed on my system as a back up. The first update should be right around the corner.

Yep... I know now I should've done it like that...I guess it wasn't auch a smooth transition from SoFo to Sony after all

If you have the sfhammer.dll and sfmirror.dll on the hardisk, back them up before you uninstall SF6.
Then copy them back anywhere and drag the dll files into SF7 to have them registered (works with 6 and shouldn't have changed with 7)

>>I guess it wasn't auch a smooth transition from SoFo to Sony after all <<

I don't think the transistion has anything to do with bugs being present in the early period of a version's release. Its always been this way with SoFo, and from what I read on other forums, even worse with Steinware, Cakewalk, etc. This issue is my number one complaint, but it seems clear that this is unfortunately something we have to live with. Therefore, for my own sanity, I just decided to purchase and download the upgrades during the sale period and monitor the forums till its clear the bugs have been mostly fixed before installing. I didn't install Vegas 4 until the *d* update (many months after the initial release) and I'm even having some problems with it (which I'm working with a Sony tech to resolve). Its beginning to look like I may have discovered yet another bug with it! Oh well. . .

I had the same problem. How I solved it was to uninstall EVERYTHING--Sony and SonicFoundry stuff. I also check my registry for any Sony keys (but there were non there). There were SonicFoundry keys but I didn't touch them. Then I reinstalled SoundForge 7 (and re-enter my serial number and re-registered) and this time Acoustic Mirror and Wave Hammer were operational!
Hope this helps,
Bill

I've got it fixed - you just have to uninstall and then reinstall SF7 - without 6 on the system, enter the serial and re-register.

thanx for all the replies

Cheers
