hi all, I am trying to figure why SF7 causes my CPU to shoot to almost 100% when just playing back a small file. It slows down my PC, i cant even open other windows. I am running it on a P4 with 768MB of ram. That didnt happened with SF6 anyone with similar problem? regards |

Yes, this had been discussed earlier. The Sonic folk have responded. Here is the thread: http://mediasoftware.sonypictures.com/forums/ShowMessage.asp?MessageID=216964&Replies=21&Page=11 |

With all due respect, "the Sonic folk have responded" 3 WEEKS AGO. With not even a single mention of just WHEN the update might be out. Maybe that's a response to you, but it's going on a month now, with not even a mention of a fix date for an acknowledged bug that is sucking up 100% CPU rate, that's paralyzing the normal operation of the entire computer, while SoFo 6 continues to chug along effortlessly; that is not a response IMHO. It's a dodge. I've seen independent freeware programmers RESPOND within days to much less problematic issues than this. If Sony can't even give a DATE when they think this thing is going to be fixed, then that's just plain unacceptable. No flame. No whine. Just opinion. sk |

The CPU issue is fixed and the first update is in the final stages of testing and review. I don't have a specific date, but it is pretty close, so I'll just say "soon". J. |

Fair enough. I assume you concluded it either wasn't possible - or wasn't cost effective - to issue an intermediary fix just for the CPU first - prior to the first full update. sk |
