Subject:Latency problems with Acid and Win 2000

Hi everybody.
I have a dual boot system:
win98 + win2000.
The first is for serious(!?) things, the seconds is for music.
My master keyboard is a yamaha cs2x that drives a kurzweil MicroEnsemble.
When I launch win 98 i don't need to activate midiyoke cause i can play and hear both the synths changing manually the trans channel, with no latency problems.
When I launch win 2000, my music dedicated configuration,i can only play and hear from the master keyboard(cs2x) but
I have to start midi yoke and to play the Kurzweil into Sonar.
No way to drive manually the Kurzweil.
It would be okay, but the problem is that i would like record audio tracks into Acid, playing the Kurzweil ,and when i attempt to do it, i have some latency problems with
midiyoke ,sonar and several audio tracks playing into Acid.
Finally I would like to play the Kurzweil in a direct way (with no midiyoke, the way i can with win 98) under Win 2000 ,avoiding the latency I actually get with midiyoke.
Is there a way to by-pass all system delay the way it happens under Win 98?
Thanks
Bruno

Which driver model are you using with ACID? (You should use the ASIO model if possible when using MIDI.)

Since the MicroEnsemble has 1/4" analog outs, you could go directly into an audio interface with those types of inputs (or get an adapter if need be; your results may vary) and record digital audio rather than MIDI.

Hi Iacobus,thanks for your answer.
I'm afraid that I did'nt explain the problem in an easy way....
I already recorded digital audio in Acid but the problem is that, with Win 2000, to succed to play the ME, i have to launch a couple of instance of Huby's loop and Sonar, with consequent latency problem.
When i worked with Win 98 i played it easily by changin the Transmitting # on my Master Keyboard and i did'nt need to launch Sonar and huby's.
Finally it's like the midi thru work freely under Win 98 and, only into Sonar and with huby's activated, under Win 2000.
Hope to have been a little bit more clear.
Thanks again

What's acting as the MIDI interface for your system? Is it a soundcard? If so, what is it? It could be its drivers.
