I just rendered a mix I made using Acid 4.0e DEMO to mp3 format. the bitrate was 128kbps, which is average. It sounds perfectly fine while im editing it in the program, but when i render it as an mp3, and play it in Winamp or something similar, The song plays, but there are these weird pauses in the song, which occur randomly and for about a half a second, throughout the whole song. I tryed cutting the bitrate down; same thing happens. I trying other methods like increasing the bitrate, saving as a .wav, and the pauses are still there. I have 2 mixes with the pauses. One has 2 tracks, and is about a minute long. the other has about 10 tracks and spans to about 4 minutes long. Ive tryed everything i could to get rid of those pauses but they just wont go away, and my listeners of my radio station are starting to complain... Im using Windows XP, 256 mb RAM. |

while i have never heard of this problem, i am totally guessing that it may be because of the version of acid you are using is a "demo" version. a lot of "demo" versions of programs will insert silences, beeps, white noises or only allow you to save a pre-determined alotted amount of time of a project. if you are using acid professionally (radio, production, scoring, editing) i HIGHLY reccomend you getting the FULL version. it is definitley worth it and you will be able to do EVERYTHING with it. i used to do radio also, and i used acid live to lay phone calls over music beds or make "mega-mix" type music sweeps. it is very easy to do...and in very quick amounts of time! hope this helps... --marc (sorry i dont have an exact solution for you...but i would bet the farm that its because of the "demo" version.) |

Yeah, i would get the full version. but i heard its a ton of money, but im not sure of how much exactly. the logic of the silences because its a demo version makes sence, and i see that now *kicks demo*. |

from what i remember i think its $279 or something in that neighborhood. but its DEF worth it. maybe start with acid music. i dont quite remember what acid music lacks that acid pro has, but if my memory serves me correctly...it isnt a drastic difference. and i think its only like 60 or 70 bux -marc |

Your local Best Buy might have ACID Pro 4.0 for about $199. That's the cheapest I've seen it. HTH, Iacobus ------- RodelWorks - Original Music for the Unafraid mD's ACIDplanet Page |
