This might sound like a dumb question, but is it possible to import and play MP3's and WAV files into Acid. When I tried, I was able to preview them, but not play them in the actual project bar. I tried the beatmapping and I tried without beatmapping. I tried the one shot and the loop. Nothing seems to work. This is so that I can rap over an instrumental I have, If there are any other suggestions on if I should try another program please tell me. Thanks Greg |

Once you have "opened" the file on the track you have to draw it in on the right side of the screen. |

Adding to Van's suggestion, you can also place the cursor where you want the track to begin and click the 'Insert' button found at the top of the chopper window. (after you double click or select it in the explorer window). HopeThisHelps. John |

You might want to open the mp3 in Sound Forge and have a look at it. I've found a lot of mp3s with a space and the beginning and at the end of the loop. |

When you add your WAV or MP3 to the project as a track, you have to draw in what's called an "event". This is simply an instance of audio of the file that plays back. It can be short, long, or anything in between. It's basically up to the user at that point. To draw in a file in its entirety, click the Paint Tool, then while holding down CTRL on your keyboard, click where you want the event to begin on the track's timeline.
