? Not sure exactly what you're asking. There are two ways of using FX: Assignable and at the track level. Using Assignable FX involves adding the desired FX to the Mixer and then sending any respective number of tracks to the FX (via the multipurpose fader for the track). You can add FX one at a time or as part of a plug-in chain. Using Track FX involves simply clicking the Track FX button for the respective track and adding any FX to the chain. On any given layer when i assign effects (the drop down menu will include volume, pan, fx 1 and fx 2)My question: Is there any way to get more for fx chains from this point?.so when i drop down this menu i'd have say fx 1 through 8..sorry for the confusion. Thanks Iacobus for all your help. |

Not a problem. That's what I'm here for. :) Once you assign/send a track to an assignable FX, there are many different ways you can work with them. For example, you can add as many FX plug-ins to a chain as you want (up to 32). You can add a Distortion plug-in, a Chorus, a Delay and a Reverb all on the same chain in Assignable FX 1. You can then send your respective track or tracks to FX 1 via the multipurpose fader as you mentioned and/or use envelopes on the track. You can definitely insert as many assignable FX as you want and control their amount separately via the multipurpose fader and envelopes inserted on the track, but if all you wanted is to create a chain to send your track(s) to, use the method above. You can use busses for the same purpose, but the advantage busses have is that you can assign a specific parameter for a specific group of tracks. For example, you can assign a group of percussion tracks to Bus A and then fade out the percussion tracks via an envelope. (Use U on your keyboard to open the bus tracks view and insert a volume envelope on Bus A.) The old way required you insert a volume envelope on each track and adjust each one individually.
