How can I make Sound Forge 7 NOT rebuild peak data when I open a WAV? I would like to save the peak data from the previous session so that I don't have to wait for the rebuild. (I assume this is stored in the SFK files, which disappear when I close a WAV after editing in SF.)

By default, Sound Forge creates SFK files so that it doesn't have to rebuild the peak data. Did you shut it off?

The option is under Options>Preferences on the menu bar. Look under the File tab. Uncheck the option, "delete tempoary files on close," if it's checked.

Also, save before closing the file. ..... before you attempt to close and get the message: "Do you want to save the changes to ____"
