Subject:SF7 Recording Problem: Skip?

I've had the WEIRDEST problem while recording w/ SF7. I have a P4, 2.6GHz, 1GB RAM, lots of drive space, (and yes, I've turned off the "time recorded" to reduce CPU load - I hope that fix comes out soon...that's REALLY annoying). When I record into my MAudio Audiophile 2496 the recording is fine. Levels are normal...but the file seems to SKIP when recording. Which is to say, if I record a phrase like, "The next step is to enter your credit card number," it ends up being, "The next step is t-edit card number." What the....?! Has anyone else experienced this? It's really strange. I can't say in 5 years of direct to disc recording that I've ever encountered this issue. Thoughts? Hints? Things to check/uncheck/do/undo? |

Defragment and run Scan Disk. Shut down all non-essential applications such as anti-virus, screen savers, ect. To see what's running, select: Cntrl+ Alt+ Delete. aka, three fingar salute. |

Im getting the same problems mate. I have been recording long mixes from my turntables and all through the recording the mix skips etc. Not very nice. I was thinking if it has something to do with buffering but I doubt it. You should be able to record easily straight to your HDD. If I figure it out, I'll tell you. |
