Subject:Acid Crashes at Track Properties Window

Hi,

I figured out that right clicking the track brings up this window with a "properties" option that takes you to the beatmapper. I used it with a vocal track--I'm not sure if you can say the vocal track has a beat though, maybe that's why it keeps crashing. This track properties window will play the track in the general tap, but not in the beatmapper tab--that's when it crashes. It also crashes if I press stop while the song is playing. The error message says: An error occurred during the current operation. An exception has occurred. It's enough to drive a novice crazy!! I just want to play with the track's tempo. Please help if you have advice. Thanks.

sorry, i responded to your post before and i didnt see this one. ummmmm.....sounds like a program error. it shouldnt crash while you are doing that. i would try uninstalling and re-installing acid. also make sure you dont have a lot of stuff open at the same time of you using acid. if you look at my response to your other post, maybe that will help a lil more on the beatmapper. maybe youre just doing it wrong!?!?!?! sorry, wish i could help more....keep askin away though. i would def. re-install acid though. also, once you have a clean install, go to the web-site and download any updates there may be for it.
good luck

Hi,
Thanks for all your help to both of you!! I'm using version 4.0. There's no "E" after it on the product.

Also, fyi, I re-downloaded the backing that was playing at a bad tempo and lo and behold (after I did NOT beatmap it), the backing then played at its normal tempo and sounded very good with the vocals. So all I had to do was re-download the backing. What a shocker and a relief!

I'll try re-installing acid soon and will load the updates--which I haven't done at all ever.

Thanks so much. Marc you're especially generous and helpful on this forum. Thank you for being so giving and helpful!! : )

You can find out which build of ACID that you have by clicking Help>About ACID Pro on the menu bar. (The latest is ACID Pro 4.0e Build 408.) You can pick up the update here.

Note that the update can either act as a patch to your existing version, or act as a standalone installation all by itself (which explains its rather hefty 36.6 MB file size). If you ever need to completely uninstall ACID and then reinstall, just install the update.
