In the stretch Tab....the grey lines that show up...are those just there to show there the down beats would be without any stretching? (and if the loop was PERFECT)

Do they serve any other purpose? I know they're a guide to show where the beats are...but is there anything else I should know about them?

YOU ARE RIGHT, THEY SHOW WHERE YOUR DOWN BEATS ARE....BUT YOU CAN ALSO USE THEM AS A GUIDE IN THE CHOPPER OR BEATMAPPER WIZARD TO GET A MORE ACCURATE TEMPO ON EACH MEASURE. IF YOU USE ACID WITH ANOTHER PROGRAM (MIDI, OR RE-WIRED SLAVE) THOSE LINES CAN BE USED AS MIDI SLICE SAMPLES TO TRIGGER DIFFERENT EVENTS. NOT SURE IF YOU DO THAT OR NOT THOUGH!?!?!?

As marc mentioned, there are some ways to use those dividing lines that help denote note value. (BTW, if you change the grid resolution on the timeline, the resolution also changes for the properties window as well.)

If you have Sound Forge, you can, for example, make a selection in the window, right-click and select, "Edit in Sound Forge X." (Where X represents your version of SF.) The entire sample will actually open up in Sound Forge with the very same selection made in ACID highlighted.
