Hi,

How can you change the tempo to just one track? I'm trying to sync vocals to this karaoke music backing. The original tempo for the backing is at 74.977bpm. The original tempo for the vocals is at 118.623 bpm. If I set either of these tracks for the original tempo, it either makes the vocals sound like a deep-voiced old man is singing or like the backing is racing. Please help! How can I sync this up right?

Thanks a lot!

first off...when you beatmap your tracks, make sure the box is checked "preserve pitch while stretching." secondly...either way your are trying to time stretch (either slowing one down or speeding one up) a signifigant amount. if i were you, i would try to find a different backing if at all possible!! if you are trying to match them up, even at a happy medium of say, 100 bpm or so....youre still asking the program to stretch either track +/- 20%. THATS A LOT!!! youre going to have signifigant quality loss. if youre backing is just some sort of a loop, i would try to find a loop closer to the 110 BPM range. i dont know what youre knowledge of music and/or acid is...but you can also try "double beating the 75 bpm backing to 130 bpm. and then stretching your vocals according to that. those would be my suggestions. hope that helps.

My technical knowledge of music is minimal--I just know notes, reading some music, but very little theory, if any. I also just started playing with Acid about a week ago.

I don't know how to stretch tempos in the beatmapper. Sometimes the beatmapper appears when I first insert a new sample. Sometimes the beatmapper never shows up. Can I make the beatmapper show up once I've already laid a track down? I've tried to, but it hasn't worked. Should I read up on beatmapper tempo stretching somewhere? Thank you.

you can manually beat map any track (as long as it is disk based) if you right click in the window where you adjust the volume for a track, where it has the track name and click on "properties" a window will come up. where it says "track type" make sure it says "beat mapped" if it doesnt, drop the arrow down and change it to that. (you have 3 choices, beat mapped, loop or one shot) once you change it to beatmapped, click on the "stretch" tab. there you will see the beatmapper wizard tool. click on that and the rest will be self guiding. also, make sure the box is checked that says "preserve pitch while stretching"
