Subject:Hollow sound fix?

I"ve got a recording done with the narrator about 8 feet from the mike, so it sounds very hollow.

Any suggestions on how to remove the "hollowness" ?

If there's a lot of room ambience in the recording, it'd be pretty difficult to make the recording sound closer, but you could probably get a little help from some judicious use of compression, multi-band dynamics and EQ.
