I am using Sound Forge V6, and when I create a file on the screen, I move it down to the bottom of the screen (not saving) so I will have several files that can be called upon quickly. These files end up becoming corrupted themselves because an earlier file will have a later one intermixed.

Anyone with any advice on what to do here, except in saving the original file

I'm afraid you'll have to elaborate a little more in order for anyone to attempt to reproduce this. But I can recommend that you make sure you are running the latest update, 6.0e, which is available on the website.

I am using V6 and update Ve. The problem arrises when I attempt to record a file, then I minimise that file. The file has now moved from top of screen down to the bottom of screen, then I record a second file and do the same (minimise)

When I open file no 1 and play it I find that it contains part of file 2 mixed into file 1. I find that this is the better way to travel for radio commercials, where different voices and sfx are all dubbed into the computer then picked out i by 1 and dropped into place. I find that this is easier for me than continually going back to where I have saved them and dragged them as needed into sound forge window.

I hope that this is easier to understand as I recently had 2 strokes and find that I have now lost some 20 percent of my memory, and writing stuff like so is difficult.

I'm not fully understanding this either, but here's a couple things to do, that might clear your problems up. The way you're working it sounds like you should make sure you have "Create a new window for each take" selected in your record window. The other thing is that you might want to defragment all your hard drives.
