Subject:Line in Recording distortion

I recently recorded a wav file of a band into sound forge. I came line in into the computer from a monitor out on the sound board. The wav file is clipped just a bit. By clipped I mean flattened off on the top. This results in just a bit of distortion on the vocals especially. Is there a filter or something I can apply to clean it up?

Absolutely.

Noise Reduction 2.0 has a "clipped peak restoration" function which lets you restore a good sound to parts which you describe as "flattened." You have several ways to achieve the desired result, too.

I should add that if you have any control over the initial recording volume, you won't run into this problem so drastically.
