When I create a new file in SoundForge, the dialog box gives me a "maximum edit time." Is this equivalent to the available space on the hard drive for recording, or is that number related to something else other free hard drive space. If it does, does that include all available hard drives, or just the scratch drive set under Options>Preferences...> Perform? I'm still using an older version of SoundForge, but I assume that aspect of the interface is pretty much the same. -Thomas Newhall |

Yes, it is the available space for recording on the drive that you specified for the scratch drive - it does not include all hard drives. I did a quick check on my setup and I have approximately 56GB free on that drive, which at roughly 10.5 MB per minute for 44.1/16 wav files yields about 90 hours of recording time, and that is what it says on the new file dialog. |
