Subject:Sound Forge XP 4.5 locks up

Trying to import an audio track directly from Vegas 4 and at aout 7%, SFXP locks up. I've tried everything I can think of including re-ionstalling the software. I wonder if the audio track is too large for XP?

Try a HD disc defrag and then try re-opening. Very large files need lots of space, and its easiier alround the file is contiguous on the HD. Plus you are creating a temporary file in SF when you open a file, so if your HD is fragmented the PC has a hard time and may lock up.
I've had XP4.5 open files >2GB without a problem, provided the HD was defragged.
