anyone using SB Live? preamp question -ACID Product Family

I've got playback in the headphones, The card is selected in audio device for record and playback. But when I redord all I see is a blip on the monitor. Very low level. When I playback the record take on the track it doesn't play anything at all. But I can yell in the mic and see it register a little bit. I have set record levels and line in levels for the card in control panel, so what the heck is it? Does anyone here use SB LIVE 5.1? Which colour plug-in on the card do you plug your pre-amp into? I am using the blue (line-in) but am trying to troubleshoot everything. Thanks Fall
