help . I use acid music 3.0 . I record wave files on outboard equipment ; guitar , bass. When I bring them up in acid ; if i use the same tempo BPM . Everything is fine I can match them up to drums etc. I loop small sections of the bass and guitar. Render the looped section only. This makes small wave files which will loop fine. I can cut and paste etc . Everything is fine unless I change the tempo . If I change the tempo my homemade loops sound phased or flanged. I know you should not change tempo too much . But i can not change it any with my homemade loops . 2 or 5 Bpm doesn't sound good. How can I acidize my wave files so acid will know their tempo key etc? I have sound forge XP studio 5.0. I have read that real loops have beat marks in them so they are recognized when you change tempo { do time stretch or reduction} What software do I need ? I know acid pro has export loops in it but I was hoping to not have to buy more software . Bottom line how do i acidize my own loops ? Thanks much for any help. Are there any stand alone utilities that can take a wave that loops ok and change it into an actual acid type loop? |

You can ACIDize using just ACID Music 3.0 and you're certainly doing it the right way. But ACID Pro goes a further step with the ability to add/adjust/delete stretch markers, which can make a custom Loop sound that much more better when stretched to other tempos. You may want to check out a recent post of mine, which may help a little. ACID Pro is the only app that has this ability; not even the full version of Sound Forge has the ability to work with stretch markers (but does have a bevy of tools ACID doesn't).
