Subject:mp3 saving at high quality - glitch?

If I open a stereo mp3 file, edit it, then save it (either with Save or Save As...) using the "Highest Quality" setting in the "Custom..." pane, it saves it in mono.

Doesn't happen on "medium quality," or on "fastest."

Is this a glitch, folks, or is it supposed to do it?

(I've only tried this on 160 and 192 bitrates)
