i just can't ignore zippygaloo's posts.....i tried to look back at his posts and i really smell something ???. . .

zip's posts looks like a prelude to the next's VV release.... He is doing it intentionally. Looks like he is trying to figure out what features can be added....can be changed....and can be scrapped......why?

Try to look back at his posts....

Well, this is the question.....
Does everyone agree with the features he like to include?
Does these features really beneficial to the users?

It has only been 6 months since Vegas 4 was released.

I'll let you in on something.

Zippy used to work for Sonic Foundry. He had a lot of good ideas for the company, and the next version of Vegas Video (some of them were, in fact, implemented).

But his attitude and approach to his co-workers was a bit "UNTRADITIONAL" (and a bit scary) in the work place, and he was 'let go', (if you know what I mean).

It is now believed that he is trying to implement his other ideas by complaining as an end user of Vegas Video. Even after he was let go, he is still posting his suggestions out of love for an application that "really is stable, cutting-edge, and top-notch." --Quote from Zippy after his first day at Sonic Foundry.

"I love this! Vegas blows away any NLE system in the world!" --Quote from Zippy after his media pool was put in place.

We hope for the best for Zippy after he completes his court mandated classes on 'forum etiquette'.

Thanks for your ideas Zippy, and good luck!

(BTW, I have your stapler!)

You know, I was thinking the same thing yesterday; that Zippy is actually a member of the Madison team that is testing the waters of the user community regarding features under development or consideration. Of couse, the shining personality is part of the cover.

I guess we'll just have to compare the new features in the next release with Zippy's rants. Should be interesting.

Consider the fact that at the same time there is a thread on the ACID Family forum about desired features for ACID 5.0. The thread was initiated by Sony employees and is quite active, civilized, and to the point. Not involving any "personalities". Why would they employ a different tactics here if approach with ACID works fine? (And I really like the way it is discussed there.)

I think Zippy works for Apple or Adobe. Perhaps Pinnacle or Avid. But that's just speculation.

You'll notice that on the Acid forum, there were several threads about wanted features, but would break down into arguments between users about someone elses post was stupid.

Hopefully the next version of Vegas (full number) won't be about for at least a year. If it was released soon, I think most V4 users (and me) would feel like Sony is trying to take their money. by releasing a new version right after we spent $$$ on v4.

Though, what would be cool is if they offered a (free) point version with a rebranded interface.

Because now with the release of SF7, I'm getting programs and plugins installed all over the hard drive. It would be nice to go ahead and have them all installed in the Sony folder.

You can do it now - just select custom install folder. Also rename shortcuts after install. Of course, it'll say Sonic Foundry everywhere in the help and in About box.

But do we care? No. It works wonderful anyway.

And I'm not really waiting for next version of Vegas soon (although improved DVD Architect would be nice).

I highly doubt he works for SoFo, if he did I'm sure he wouldn't be as harsh in his posts and would have some respect for other Vegas users (at least I hope so!) But I could definately see him as a former disgruntled employee who's ideas were never addressed, and now he is childishly posting negative things in the forums.
