Subject:Sending a acid pro song to a tascam 788 as a virtual track

Hello, I have just bought a tascam 788, and my objective is to make rythem patterns in acid pro (via acid loops), and then send them through midi to my tascam 788. Then probably record them as virtual tracks (but that will come later). So, I am having a hard time figuring out how to send a midi signal/sound to my tascam 788. I don't know what the midi settings are in the acid pro to send midi through my game port (I have a midi adapter that goes through my game port). I have a soundblaster live sound card, and I'm not quite sure how to get that working, to send and recieve midi either. Any help at all would be greatly appreciated. Thanks... |

Be aware there are two different kinds of audio: MIDI and digital audio. They're two very different beasts. If you intend to create MIDI tracks in ACID Pro 4.0 and send them to the Tascam 788, it should be possible as long as you set up the right parameters. Go to Options>Preferences and under the MIDI tab, ensure that the MIDI out on your Live! is available for playback. Then route the MIDI track(s) in your project to the 788 using the device selector button in the track list. (It should be listed as, "Device 1 (your specific MIDI device)".) Once you do that the, MIDI should be sent to your 788. Also, be aware that MIDI acts like a loop, so the MIDI out cable should go into the MIDI in port of the receiving device; MIDI out on the device should go to the MIDI in of the audio interface.
