Subject:Acid sound quality...HELP!!!

I'm hoping someone can settle a dispute between me and my producing partner.... I love acid and doing all my songs in it, - he's a Logic emagic freak. He claims his versions done on Logic sound more fuller and richer than on mine, and that the 16 bit nature of Acid is what is holding it back.. My question to the Acid world is this - is this true? and what would you recommend keeping in mind that I'm on a strict bedroom budget I can do about it. Any info is a help...thanks.

Fuller and richer are subjective terms.

ACID is not 16 bit in nature. ACID has always been 32 bit Floating point internal. I believe that ACID was internally 32 bit before Logic was.

ACID 2 support 24 bit audio. ACID 4 will support what ever you throw at it.

Anyway, you partner is being subjective. There is no quantitative means to measuer "fuller" and "richer", so I would just ignore him and don't waste time getting into a pissing match over whos tool is better. If ACID solves your problems and you are satisfied with the results, then that is all that matters. You can rarely win the battles of X vs Y as there is a built in bias of wanting to believe ones tool is the best.

!!!

Sounds like bias amongst elitist snobs as usual. (No insult to your producing partner, but he needs to get his facts straight.) I really don't understand this "my app is better than yours" garbage.

I'm also taking that your producing partner happens to use a Mac? Logic isn't supported on the PC platform anymore. Then again, who cares?

The bottom line, as Peter mentioned, is to use what works for you and you alone.
