Using midi clock out to trigger my drum machine in Acid 4.0e. When you press play in Acid the drum machine starts like it should but stops after the first beat. Going USB to mdi sport 2x2 to Alesis SR-16 (set to clock in). Midi sport lighting shows that the signal is still transmitting. Not sure what the problem is..help!

Thanks

I want to say it could be the drivers for the Midisport. Have you contacted M-Audio on the matter? Try other drivers at M-Audio's site?

Can you connect any other way other than USB? I noticed the Midisport can be set to MIDI thru, though you'd need another interface with MIDI to go to your Midisport and then out to your SR-16. (Likewise, you could also use just another audio interface with MIDI I/O.)

Thanks for your help. I'll try the new drivers first. USBis my only way. If that won't work can I run the midisport into another tone generator and then midi thru to the SR-16?

Tried the new drivers and still only one beat (literaly)and then nothing. The midi sport appears to be sending signal the entire time.

I am assuming that you are sending MIDI clock, not MTC.

From the Sync preferences page:

Click the Advanced button.

What are the settings for MIDI Clock?

Correct. On midi clock. Advanced setting on start and stop. Have tried a combination of other as well.

Not sure if running the Midisport to another device and then to the SR-16 will work; it may be the Midisport's drivers.

Any way you have access to a similar device, such as the Midisport UNO (it apparently uses different drivers) or even to a traditional MIDI setup like the ones provided by the Echo MiaMIDI or the M-Audio Audiophile 2496?

I think that should be next option. It's strange how it will trigger for only a short second then stop. I was thinking on moving to a virtual drum software but very new to the concept. Any suggestions for Acid .

You mean like VSTi's and other soft synths? There's tons, but known ones are Battery (from Native Instruments) and Reason (which is done via ReWire).
