Subject:plugin not properly initialized?! Going mad!

Ok, since I've installed Windows XP on my new drive, I can't open most of my .acd files off the old drive (slave drive). I keep getting this error:

An error occured while loading the project file "X".acd. The file format plugin for the specified format was not properly initialized

This is awful, I am so distraught because this is all my music and demo files. I have no idea what it is, going crossed eyed on the computer trying to figure it out.

Any help would be grand.

How was your system set up before you upgraded? Are the projects still in the same location?

This error indicates that something about your ACID installation is not correct.

You should completely uninstall ACID and then reinstall ACID. Make SURE you tell ACID to overwrite the files. Note, none of your projects will be lost.

Did your ACID project incorporate any QuickTime mov files? You'll see that error if you load such a project and you don't have QuickTime installed. Go to www.apple.com/quicktime to get a free download, when you install it be sure to do a custom install and install everything.

If that's not it, post again with more details about your project and what type of media files it includes.
