ok i'm trying to use a loop i created that will play on my website. no problem seamlessly looping when it is a .wav, but the file is too large and would take forever to load. tried rendering it as an mp3, but it changes the loop length and is no longer "seamless" and there seems no way around this. does anyone have any suggestions as to how i can get the file size down and still maintain the integrity of the loop? |

Have you tried Windows Media Audio (.wma)? That might work, but it will probably limit your website to Windows users. |

Look into Wicked Streaming Program as one possibility. Very small files. |

Try rendering using a smaller resolution and sample rate, like 8-bit/11 kHz. Remember that you do not want to surprise someone when they come to your site with audio. (It may even anger them.) Use a Flash presentation instead for this purpose. (CoffeeCup Software sells an inexpensive Flash-based program called Firestarter.) .ogg and .mpc are formats, that allow seamless looping. or make a flash movie, but you'll need action script, in order to loop seamlessly. |

I agree with Iacobus...if I stay on a web page that auto-plays audio, it's only long enough to hit the "stop" button at the top. Very annoying... OTOH: Give me a link to click, and I'll gladly listen to the entire piece...given I have the CHOICE... |
