Is there an easy way of splitting up a long MP3 or Wave file so when i burn it on a CD it will be read as several tracks instead of a single track?

I have an MP3 file that is 58mins long and want to burn it to a CD, does sound forge have a function that I can set markers then automaticly split the tracks up for me?

Thanks.

You can try Tools > Auto Regions...

or;

If there is no blank space between songs;

Place the cursor at the start of the audio in the file.

Press "m" to insert a marker.

Press the spacebar to start playback.

Press "m" again at the crossfade location to insert another marker. Repeat to the end.

Click Special > Regions List > Markers to Regions, when prompted click yes or ok.
In the Regions List window highlight a region click enter to edit name.

Click tools > Extract Regions and save them to a folder and burn them all in your burning software using DAO (disk at once) to prevent spaces between tracks.

If you have blank space to eliminate between songs;

Press "[" at the start of the song.

Press spacebar to start playback.

Press "]" at the end.

Press "r" to create region and name it.

You can fade in and fade out each region if desired.

Repeat to the end.

Click tools > Extract Regions and save them to a folder and burn them all in your burning software using DAO (disk at once).

Engineer, what type of file is the attachment? If it's a more or less standard type of audio file, save it to your drive and then use File / Open in Sound Forge to open it.

Or even easier, set sound forge to be the default application to open your type of file (in preferences, associations) and then open your attachment !
